Nothing terminal. Just a serious infarction that would render him unable to speak or move.

I fear this as well.

He is above all else - truly ignorant. Unschooled. Intellectually incurious.
Completely unaware of the true impact & dangers of nuclear weapons, their direct impact, global radiation from fallout, long-term climate effects, immediate and long-term health effects to those outside the primary blast zone, to say nothing of the sheer immorality.

Add on the larger effect on human civilization by 'normalizing' their use.

Nothing fatal. Just a significant cerebellar infarction that leaves him unable to move or speak.

He can just live like that for a few years until the inevitable. Terrified. Muted. Alone. Forgotten. His 'Family' and 'Friends' descending like the jackets they are, tearing him and themselves to pieces.
