The Befaco Hexmix VCA was a fairly involved build. I reckon there were 140 resistors, about 60 capacitors, 12 jacks and 18 pots. Ran out of time to do calibration and playing with it, but initial test showed I have a dodgy input jack on one channel. Gonna have to remedy that and then test the CV inputs as well. #BlinkSabbath
Built myself a Mod Medusa today (by Shakmat Modular). I think I’m in love with the Shakmat aesthetic. #BlinkSabbath
Placed my first Mouser order. #BlinkSabbath

After fitting a couple of TipTop Audio Studio Bus boards and installing a bunch of modules I found that the board was resetting every couple of seconds. I was concerned that my boosted power spec was still not enough.

After doing some debugging (I.e. pulling the power from module by module) I discovered that I had plugged my Turing Machine’s Gates output into the bus board. After connecting the right cable everything seems to be working again, and no damage to the Turing Machine. #BlinkSabbath

Bought a secondhand 12U case a few weeks ago but found that the power levels were a bit low as it was just a couple of Doepfer A100 bus boards. Have spent the day replacing the Doepfer boards with two TipTop Audio Studio Bus boards. Each one puts out the same sort of power as the combined Doepfer boards. Haven’t wired them up yet, but just the process of taking the old stuff out and mounting the new stuff has been fun. #BlinkSabbath
Spent a bit of time today setting up the AY-3-8910 to interface with an Arduino Uno. Was able to hear something in a set of headphones connected to the output, but nothing distinct. Next step is to boost the signal output as it is supposed to be about 1Vp-p and Eurorack needs it to be a lot hotter! #BlinkSabbath
Fixed up the Chikipower (and somehow caused an LED to stop working), but now have power attached to the breadboard with the AY-3-8910 on it. Will have to start experimenting with the AY and Arduino, as well as plan what I/O the module will have. #BlinkSabbath

I’m trying to make Sunday my day where I try to get some modular synth action in. I’ll try to do stuff on other days too, but that’s just a bonus. I feel like I should use a hashtag and of course I want something cutesy and clever. #SynthSunday seems too generic, but I can’t think of anything more Modular specific.

That said, I’m really tempted to just use #BlinkSabbath
