Chicago Blackhawks top prospect Anton Frondell is making his NHL debut at the New York Islanders fresh off his professional season in Sweden coming to an end. The third pick in the draft last year is beginning his career in North America alongside 2023 No. 1 pick Connor Bedard on the top line and as part of Chicago's first power play unit. Coach Jeff Blashill believes the 18-year-old forward can handle big responsibilities right away. Frondell's first game in the league comes against Matthew Schaefer, the first pick who is far and away the front-runner to be rookie of the year.

"I'm excited to see him out there today," Bedard said. "I don't know how excited I am to be chasing him around. He can fly."
Anton Frondell kept saying making his NHL debut for the #Blackhawks “feels like a dream.”
He played in the Swedish Hockey League on Saturday, got a call to come over immediately, packed his bags and took a flight here.
