im back on ADHD meds (after almost a year off), and I feel amazing!

so my mom is veryyyy very african conservative and doesn't believe in adhd, autism, or clinical depression (despite her lowkey highykey showing signs of one or two of these).

and since i have been back living with them in 2025 this toxicity began to rub of on me and i just gave up on trying to even be stable.

i was diagnosed at 20. and if you know anything, as a black person, i had to FIGHT for that diagnosis.

i had lost my lecturing job, couldnt afford rent in cape town, and just had to return home.

and looking back, this really fucked up my 2025. i was a mess.

but going to Cape Town for that brief period, seeing my friends and loved ones, and once again opening up about my struggles and mental state did a lot for me. the day after i returned, i went right to see my psychiatrist...my dad also tagged along and sat through a session. story for another day.

i just want to extend a BIG THANK YOU to everyone that boosted my mutual aid posts, donated coins, and showed support through such kind an meaningful words.

but ive been on my meds for the last couple of days and WOAH. I forgot how out of whack my system can be, how erratic my decision making is at times, and i forgot how it felt to have predictable executive function!

I FEEL AMAZING!

I'll write more about Playtopia some other time, but the most important takeaway from it was:

  • I love indie games, but damn is this industry racist.
  • Hopping onto the fedi is one of the better choices I made this year.
  • Once again, I thank you all so so so much. You all really did save this year for me, and allowed me an escape from my toxic family.

*I leave this year feeling a lot more confident as an artist, game developer, and most importantly, a beautiful black trans woman growing into herself. *

    Good Morning!
My name is Bryce Elliot Watson.
My pronouns are he/they and I hope you have a good day!
(Sorry for the constant name change I’m having a hard time finding the perfect name so I combined Bryce after my late friend Bryce Beekman & Elliot Page two men who are the main reason for my transition)

@cashmavdevereaux Hey Lucas!  Happy Black History Month!

It is totally fine to change your name and pronouns as many times as it takes to feel comfortable!

You should consider using hashtags like #trans #nonbinary #transmasc to your posts, so you can be better supported by the trans community here. You can also use @trans @transmasc and @nonbinary to get even further reach with groups. There's also #blackhistorymonth #BlackMastodon and #BlackTransJoy  hashtags.

It may seem old-school to use hashtags in your posts, but lots of people follow these, and online support is so important when you're figuring out gender stuff, especially in these times in the US.

It's great to have you here, Lucas!

I finally found some time to take a couple of selfies
