Nolan MooreHere are the #boardgames I played in September! My new indulgence, #BlackRoseWars, topped my play counts and was my favorite game to play, both solo and with friends. It’ll probably be the first game I actually bother painting minis for even.
On the opposite side of the spectrum from BRW, #AGentleRain provided a nice respite during some stressful moments this month.
#PiratesOfMaracaibo proved to be a big hit with my group (as loved as #Libertalia almost), yarr!

The last game I got in this weekend was a learning game of #BlackRoseWars Duel: Lex!
While I love the franchise-hopping Unmatched, I’ve wished that it offered a bit more strategy/complexity. BRW Duel scratches that itch with its spell programming, deck-building (minimal in Duel), events, quests, room variability, and scoring. I know full BRW expands this further, but I feel like the Duel format stretched to work with 4 players would work well.
