A nine-inch nail with pink fringes in the middle of the Black Rock Desert marked, a year and a half ago, the spot where my Camp-Fire installation would rise at Burning Man — and with it the peak of a turbulent year filled with commissions for large, challenging art projects. A great week with #Arliss flying student projects on #Aerotech M1419s. Picture with the University of Tokyo team Corrus and their flying drone. After landing it flew 4.6km across the #blackrockdesert playa towards their target.

* Bad weather is normal at Burning Man (it's a feature, not a bug);

* Mostly burners leapt to the occasion, which is what people almost always do in disaster situations;
