Common Sandpiper, Black Hole Marsh, Seaton, Devon. Not sure if this bird appeared in the recent episode of #BBC #Countryfile but, in any case, it was the first one I'd seen in the UK this year.

I visited Black Hole Marsh, #Seaton early this morning to check out the first breeding #Devon #Avocet. It was peaceful and quiet and the Avocet were all present and correct - two adult, three young. Lovely to see this elegant wader. And they also lived up to their feisty reputation as parents - seeing off any birds that came too close
