Black Belt Eagle Scout

Black Belt Eagle Scout's music is rotted in folk, with dream pop and light shoegaze accents, always intimate in tone and anchored in her deep sense of connection to the land.

Black Belt Eagle Scout is the stage name for Katherine Paul, a multi-instrumentalist singer and songwriter who usually works within a basic guitars/drums set up (both of which she plays) delivers her often somber indie folk pieces in an unhurried pace and a whispery gentle voice. That is also how she sounds even when she is going through a dramatic build up and release, by the way. Some of her songs are more straightforward folk affairs with finger picked guitars, and when she is locked into a groove there is a bit of a dream pop vibe to her performance, though that is just a touch. The pace is typically on the unhurried side, but not necessarily slow.
