This is crazy! linuxdaw.org has reached 945 plugins with native Linux support. Lots of new free and paid plugins on the page the last week. And a "freebee" from Audio Damage (in change of your e-mail).
What a time to be a Linux user!

can't wait to release this :D besides performance optimizations (and I'm talking HUGE cpu usage drop) I'm trying to add more features that makes working with it even more fun

My new performance system is pretty much ready for performance! Having so much fun playing it. I guess that means it and I'm ready ?
Hey btw for #Bitwig users, in this week’s blog I bothered to explain how I use stock devices to trim competing low-end frequencies out of a bassline when a kick drum kicks… it’s really simple to make a dynamic EQ imo and I find it so useful I figure it’s worth drawing attention to it. It’s just classic sidechain stuff but more subtle than just turning down the whole sound (ducking).
I may as well lay it out here too:
* Add an EQ+ to the track you want to trim frequencies from, and add a band to it, probably either a shelf or a notch
* Add an Audio Sidechain to the EQ+ and choose the relevant source, eg. the out of your kick drum
* Adjust the high and low pass filters on the Audio Sidechain so the same frequency range you want to cut is coming through
* Use that Audio Sidechain to modulate either the frequency of your low shelf or the gain of your notch
* Tweak Audio Sidechain gain and/or modulation amounts to taste
Week 15 of WeeklyBeats, ‘Paekākāriki Escarpment Track’.
I made quintuplet house music, or house in 20/16 kinda.

Aims for this week The things I tried to do this week that are different from what I usually do: Write house musicMinimise textural / timbral changes I also ended up seeing how it would sound if it was either in 5 4 but subdivided into groups of 4, or in 4 4 but using strict quintuplets, however you choose to think about it. In my software I set the time signature to 5 4, and, for example put a kick drum every 5 16th beats. But honestly these kinds of time signature shenanigans are the type of thing I do semi-regularly. Read more As usual I've written process notes on my blog.
