I received two pleas today for urgent donations: one from #MSF about the plight of the people of Gaza and one from #BirdlifeAustralia about the plight of the endangered South-eastern Hooded Robin.

I can’t afford to give to both so who to choose? A seemingly hopeless cause or one which may be saved. The horror for #Palestinians would normally take precedence. But the population of the hooded robin is down 50% on what it was 10 years ago.

Today, I chose the robin. Maybe Gaza next week. ☹️

My first count is in. I am in Melbourne still and saw mostly common birds in Burnley Park, but did see two pairs of Gang-gang Cockatoos!
