I gotta look at it today! It’s a house finch 100% sure. I could not get a picture of it, but I now know what it is. #Birds #BirdNest. #Nesting. #Birdwatching. #Georgia.

Update on my little hummingbird, Rosie. She laid 4 eggs! The first 2 were not viable so she abandoned them for a few weeks. She then came back to lay her second set of eggs and has been sitting on them day and night. You can tell which are the old vs new eggs. This has not happened in the last 4 years so it’s cool to see how every year is different. Can’t wait u til they hatch! 🥰

A bird nest up at the folks old house. I ided the birds about four years ago as House finches. I need to confirm that identification because this nest could be either House Finch or House sparrow.
Thought: let’s start a hashtag called bird nest.

@aroundthehills great material for building mattresses in nests!
On my balcony I usually put some material for… the ‘flannel’ sheets. I divided the clumps of cat hair into smaller tufts that are easy to carry, and put them into a clean suet feeder.
Blue tits and great tits do appreciate: one refill per week since the beginning of March!

Clearly we need to clean up our old whipper snipper cord or the birds will! Wondering if this was a magpie nest given the large but unfortunately dead nestling I found underneath this tree some time back. Seems to have fallen unused out of the tree.
