I just discovered a package in #R to read and write #C3D #motioncapture files. Thanks to Simon Nolte and the team from @Sporthochschule ! This will help so many people in #biomechanics and #movementscience. Having this tool will hopefully encourage researchers in the field to use #FOSS instead of proprietary software and foster #FairData and #OpenScience.

Getting Started

💁🏻‍♀️ TIL: 🪤🧪 The #Venusflytrap doesn’t have #muscles or #nerves#Darwin suspected otherwise.

Researchers used a nanoindenter to poke #leaves and found that triggered #cells soften instantly, snapping the trap shut like a rubber popper toy flipping inside-out.

💁🏻‍♀️ TIL: 🚶‍♂️↪️ University of #Navarra and University of #Tokyo researchers noticed people #walking in open spaces consistently drift counterclockwise.

They tested crowds, individuals, #VR, even people pretending one leg was broken, and the left-turn bias kept appearing. Nobody knows why, and #kids show an even stronger version of it.

Humans prefer to walk anticlockwise, scientists find – but reason is unclear

From Spain to Japan, experiments have repeatedly shown a left-turn bias, but exact mechanic ‘is still an open question’

---

## CAR (Center Axis Relock)

* оружие близко к корпусу
* работа через доминантный глаз
* минимальный рычаг

* Double Tap + Mozambique Drill

* тайминги
* биомеханика
* дисциплина действий

🏀📐 Sport scientists and physicists break down how Victor Wembanyama’s extreme height (7'4" / 223 cm), near-vertical torso, minimal jump, hip/knee flexion, and creative shot selection combine to make him a uniquely effective three-point shooter in the #NBA playoffs – disproving skeptics that very tall players can’t shoot from deep.

San Antonio Spurs star ‘Wemby’ is rocking the NBA playoffs. Science can help explain why

Wemby’s height gives him an advantage in blocking and rebounding, but how does the tallest player in the NBA keep hitting all those threes?

Why Do Flies Buzz? The Annoying Truth Revealed (You Won't Believe!) - Eco-savvy.blog

That persistent, often irritating hum – the unmistakable **buzzing sound** of **flies**. It's a universal backdrop to our lives, a noise that instantly conjures images of uninvited guests. But have you ever truly paused to consider what's orchestrating...

Male hoverflies possess distinctly larger eyes and faster photoreceptors than females, providing them with advanced visual systems that support rapid, high-speed aerial pursuits for breeding and territorial dominance.
