Shortly after that, the site was changed to say tickets are "currently not available." Billy McFarland, who went to prison for wire fraud and other crimes related to the first Fyre Festival in 2017, had claimed he was working with officials in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico to get permits, but the officials said there was no record of the event. No performers had been announced for Fyre Festival 2, which was scheduled for May 30-June 2, with ticket packages ranging from $1,400 to $1.1 million.

Festival founder Billy McFarland defended Fyre 2, saying, "My partners and I have remained in communication with local and state government to ensure full compliance and a successful event that benefits the local economy."
We're not sure any fediverse folks have splashed the cash on Fyre Festival 2 tickets (did you also try and buy Graceland from that woman in Missouri?). But just in case you were tempted, the tourist board in the location where it's supposed to take place in Mexico says it "does not exist." Edgar Gasca, from the tourism directorate of Isla Mujeres, said, “We have no knowledge of this event, nor contact with any person or company about it." The event is supposedly happening from May 30-June 2. Tickets went on sale last week priced from $1,400 — still with no confirmed musical performers or details on what will be happening.
