I mean, we don't have to eat the billionaires. We could tax them back to millionaires instead. It has the added benefit that we don't need to think about what to serve the vegans and vegetarian.

Not trans not undocumented not homeless not Muslims….

While the far-right distracts the media with fear-mongering over trans athletes, immigrants, and Muslims—he calls out who’s really rigging the system: billionaires and the politicians they bankroll. It’s not trans people attacking public education. It’s not undocumented immigrants raising your rent. It’s not Muslims cutting taxes for the rich. Let’s stop falling for GOP scapegoating and start fighting the actual threat to our democracy and working families. #politics #progressivevoices #economicjustice #billionaires #mediaaccountability #truthmatters #democracydefense #equalityforall #gopfails #middleclassmatters - Free Citizens".
I'm currently fighting with Express Scripts insurance over a compounded prescription I get that actually helps my #chronicpain.
Compounded prescriptions in the US can't be billed to insurance directly it seems, you have to pay for it yourself and then file for reimbursement.
This one costs me $339.99 for a 1 month supply.
The first bit of this journey through insurance hell is that if even a single component of the prescription isn't covered, they will refuse to reimburse you.
They will not tell you ahead of time what is and is not covered, you have to get lucky. "Ah" you say "But they have a coverage list on their website you can use, right?"
Very astute. You'd think their coverage list would give you this information but you would be wrong, the rules are different for compounded medications apparently as the coverage is based not just on the medicine itself but the amount and how it is used. And no, they do not have a separate list for compounded prescriptions.
After finally getting someone on the phone who I could keep on the phone long enough to help me, we get to the second part of this journey through hell.
A compounded prescription lists the NDC, or National Drug Code for every component in your prescription.
They declined my recent request for reimbursement of the topical pain lotion because there were components in it that weren't covered because they are OTC.
You ready for what they are?
1. The solvent that is used to dissolve the solid powdered medication
2. The component that holds them in a suspension
3. The chemical that allows it to absorb through the skin
4. THE FUCKING LOTION ITSELF
5. THE FUCKING PUMP APPLICATOR
So basically their stance is, "Hey, you can get the medications, you just also need to have a commercial-grade pharmacy in your home and the expertise needed to dissolve these powders, titrate the mixture, hold them in suspension, mix them with chemicals that are somehow simultaneously OTC and yet only available to be sold to a licensed pharmacist, and then apply the exact amount prescribed to you without the pump applicator that doses the exact amount you are supposed to apply."
The insurance in this country is a fucking joke.
For my friends not in the US who are reading this, please don't reply by sharing how much better your insurance is than that of the US.
I know it is.
We all know it is.
I'm already angry.
