The Conservatives say that Bill C-9 is unnecessary at best and harmful at worst as it could empower hate groups to misuse the justice system to harm Jewish Canadians.

I accept the premise of concern, but where I push back is the idea of "So we should do nothing."

Canadian Conservatives have publicly spoken up against antisemitism in Canada and been vocal in their criticism of the situation of rising hate during the Liberal governments.

If the Conservatives wish to take up the cudgel of addressing antisemitism in Canada, that needs to come with concrete plans that address the real concerns presented by Jewish leaders and local law enforcement and politicians who have expressed being limited by current laws.
