Jetzt verdiente Badewanne.
#BikeStreak Day 59:
What a difference 24 hours makes. Yesterday 55F (13C) and sunny, today 20F (-7C) and snowing heavily. So I climbed back on my fatbike with studded tires and rode the #RochMN city trails for 11 miles. On the way back, I couldn't even see my tracks from an hour earlier as it was snowing so hard. It will be back above freezing starting Monday, so we'll see how long this snow lasts.

#BikeStreak Day 58:
Because the forecast was for increasing winds in the afternoon, I went out on my bike ride early, while it was still cool. It eventually got to 55F (13C) but the winds weren't that strong. In any case I rode up the Douglas State Trail again to see how far I could get before hitting ice and snow across the trail, and this time I got to just South of Douglas, 4.5 miles up the trail. There's snow in the forecast for tomorrow, so I may be back on studded tires.

#BikeStreak Day 54:
Just as cold to start as yesterday (12F, -11C) but with a lot less wind and sunny skies, it was a lot more pleasant for riding today. As I am running out of sunflower seeds for the backyard bird feeders, I hooked up the trailer to the ebike and went to Fleet Farm for a 40# bag. As that was only a 9 mile round trip, I detached the trailer at home and then rode up to and around Silver Lake and back for another 11 miles.

#BikeStreak Day 47:
The string of unbelievably awesome cycling weather (for February in Minnesota) continues. It was in the 50's F, sunny and almost no wind. I waited until Team USA Women's Ice Hockey Team had a safe lead and then set out on a loop out to Salem Corners, Byron and back on Valleyhigh Road for 40 miles. The latter always had a pretty view but was a dangerous route to cycle until they recently rebuilt it adding a wide paved shoulder.

#BikeStreak Day 46:
With it 50F (10C), sunny and with light winds, EVERYONE was enjoying a beautiful False Spring Sunday afternoon. I decided to see whether the Douglas State Trail was rideable, and it was for a bit, but spots Northwest of 65th Street were completely covered with snow and ice, so I turned around at that point. I added a loop around Cascade Lake to get a 30 mile bike ride. But the lake loop trail was extremely busy; there were more folks on it than I've ever seen.

#BikeStreak Day 45:
I'm back in the saddle. I swapped out the studded tires on my gravel bike so I could use it for a road ride while the road bike is getting fixed. Today was the warmest so far this year, topping out at 52F (11C) under sunny skies, but a bit windier than yesterday. I rode the Eyota, Chester loop for 33 miles. I would have gone longer on my road bike, and I was being cautious due to the minor injuries, but I'm feeling much better, so I'm relieved.

#BikeStreak Day 42:
When it is sunny, with light winds, above freezing and the roads are clean and dry in Minnesota in February, you just have to take a nice long road bicycle ride. I rode from home Southwest into Rock Dell Township and back for 37 miles. It was quite pleasant. Leaving town, I ran into one of my hockey team buddies on the Zumbro River South Trail. The route included a steep hill, up to 8% grade and tackling that is helping me get back into form.

#BikeStreak Day 40:
It was almost 40F (4C) when I set out on my ride. I rode 31 miles on #RochMN city trails and county roads West of town. As I live in far Southeast Rochester, I have to ride through town whenever heading West or North, so my "road" ride today was more on city trails than roads. Fortunately the Mayowood Trail was *mostly* clear of snow and ice so I was able to head out that way today. I still need to work on my stamina for longer rides and for climbing hills.

#BikeStreak Day 38:
With the county roads clean and dry, I went out for a legitimate road ride on my road bike, the Eyota loop for 32 miles. It was 17F (-8C) when I set out and it was 25F (-4C) when I returned home. The wind was out of the Southeast so I had a tailwind most of the latter half of the ride. A Red-tailed Hawk flew close by and a Bald Eagle was in a farm field nearby as I rode. The traffic on the county roads without shoulders was very light, so that was a plus.
