Bike spot map released! This useful project asks people to place a dot on the map where they feel safe or unsafe while cycling. In our area, below, Chapel St, Inkerman St and Kerferd Rd really stand out as unsafe locations, though it's heartening to see a number of green (safe) spots blooming on St Kilda Road (north of the Junction). #melbourne #cycling #BikeSpot #CoPP

The #BikeSpot survey has picked up many unsafe crosses on Inkerman St! Here, Oliver comments "Busy road along a clear connection to the city/St Kilda area. CoPP has been talking about a protected bike lane for years, Councillors need to get on board and support this project or offer a viable alternative." 16 others support his comment.

@jessta Coming back to this convo after checking in on the BikeSpot map.... it seems like the number of "unsafe" marks on St Kilda Rd has gone up... maybe a paradoxical outcome of removing the most-obvious death trap (the junction), more people start using it and complaining about the less-murdery parts. #BikeSpot

Hear hear! SimonB's comment on the Bike Spot survey at Inkerman St "No separated lanes and a high volume of traffic make this uncomfortable to navigate. It would be great to see CoPP deliver a protected lane here as promised in the transport strategy." You can ask for a protected bike lane by supporting Option A here: https://haveyoursay.portphillip.vic.gov.au/help-improve-road-safety-inkerman-street Survey closes 7 December. #cycling #melbourne #SafeInkerman #BikeSpot #BikeLane
