I found out the #BikeKitchener Bike Valet service is entirely volunteer operated; maybe there's one City staff member to supervise. So when they can't get enough volunteers to help out, there's no bike valet service...

BikeKitchener

Thank you for your interest in BikeKitchener’s Bikecheck. There will be various opportunities to volunteer for Bikecheck at different events during spring and summer this year. Events run from June to September. Exact dates to be announced soon. Applications are due at least 2 weeks before each event. BikeKitchener promotes and fosters a sustainable cycling culture among Kitchener residents of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Whether residents are looking for information on cycling routes, safety tips, promotional events or upcoming projects, BikeKitchener provides information, resources and support to those interested in cycling. With the goal of doubling the number of trips made by bicycles every three to five years, a significant amount of work is underway to make cycling safe and enjoyable for all Kitchener residents. What is Bikecheck? Bike Kitchener's Bikecheck - it's like a coat check, only for your bike! People ride their bikes to an event with Bikecheck, then they can hand their bikes to one of the attendants and then go enjoy the event without having to worry about their bike! All bikes must be picked up within a half hour of the end of the event. To read more about BikeKitchener.ca click here. For more information view the role description.

#BikeNite A3: #BikeKitchener in #Kitchener, Ontario has been running a free #BikeValet service at larger, city-sponsored events for a while.

Rather than dragging your bike through the crowds at an event, you bring your bike to the desk where a volunteer takes your bike, gives you a claim ticket, and puts your bike in a fenced-off area. You can leave your panniers, lights, cell phone mounts &c attached, it's all secure and safe.

#BikeNite A1: Just got back home from the #KitchenerBluesFest. Not by bike, sadly. But I saw that #BikeKitchener had the Bike Parking Valet service running (free!), and the bike corral was quite full.

There are some Saskatoon Berries on the #IronHorseTrail, and loads of Mulberries. And Raspberries on the #TransCanadaTrail. There are also some that look like Strawberries, but apparently they're some kind of mimic; they're absolutely tasteless.
