Ah to have confidently attained nirvana in the style of a crusty bibliographer…

[How to quote a RFC?] You are using the venerable Requets For Comments (RFC) by the famous IETF?
And you want to quote them in your #bibliography with a bibliographical #format?
1- BibTex is available!
2- it's online!
3- go to the URL: https://www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfcN/ by replacing N by the Number (1 to 4 digits) of the RFC ;
4- choose "Cite this RFC BibTeX"... and it's done: copy&paste!
OR...
3bis- go to: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/rfcN/bibtex/ with N for the RFC Number. Done!
Happy quoting, and thanks to the @rfceditor

"Fihrist" [https://codeberg.org/ajcain/fihrist] is a console library+bibliography manager, which I wrote for my own use, and which I have made available in the (probably forlorn) hope that others might find it useful.

It aims at (1) speed, being entirely keyboard driven (Emacs-style keybindings), (2) simple integration into build scripts (e.g. exporting required metadata from the command line), and (3) bibliographic consistency.

The UI needs polishing, and the documentation is incomplete (although there is a tutorial/demonstration), but the core functionality is there and I use it to generate automatically Bib(La)TeX files for my books and articles.

It is named after the ‘Kitāb al-Fihrist’ [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Fihrist], a 10th-century catalogue compiled by Ibn an-Nadīm [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibn_al-Nadim].

A "fun" bibliographical data modelling problem that I am running into: Odo Reuter published his "Hemiptera Gymnocerata Europae" in five volumes from 1878 to 1896. Vol. 3 includes supplements for vols. 1-3 and vol. 4 and 5 include their own supplement (it seems). None of the volumes have their own title.

The whole thing was then reprinted in parts in Acta Soc. scient. Fenn.: vols. 1-3 with their supplements in vol. 13 (1884), and the rest in vol. 23 (1897).
