The many tens of thousands of self-employed community nurses and home carers working across France are on the front line when it comes to caring for patients and the vulnerable at home. Yet despite the huge mileage many of them do each week, the French government's recent 69-million-euro relief package to combat rising fuel prices does not include them. Meanwhile, the steep increase in the cost of petrol and diesel caused by the US-Israeli attack war on Iran continues to cut deep into their income. One union now warns that nurses may soon have to choose which patients to look after.

Netanyahu Seeks to Kill U.S.-Iran Talks to Start Another War: Mouin Rabbani
President Donald Trump held a lengthy meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Wednesday at the White House, where the two leaders discussed ongoing nuclear talks with Iran. Trump has said he wants to reach a deal with Iran about the country’s nuclear program, which Tehran insists is only for peaceful civilian purposes but which the U.S. and Israel claim is aimed at developing nuclear weapons. In recent weeks, Trump has repeatedly threatened to attack Iran after the Iranian government crushed a wave of anti-government protests, killing thousands of people. The Pentagon is also reportedly preparing to move a second aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East, raising pressure on Iran’s leadership. “What Netanyahu is seeking to do with this visit is to inject poison pills into the negotiations in order to ensure that they fail, and thereby set the stage for a new armed conflict with Iran,” says Middle East analyst Mouin Rabbani.

Trump Threatens to Send Another Aircraft Carrier to Strike Iran
President Trump is meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House today as the U.S. continues to threaten Iran. On Tuesday, Trump said he could send another aircraft carrier to strike Iran if negotiations over the country’s nuclear program fail. Trump told Axios, “Either we will make a deal or we will have to do something very tough like last time.” The U.S. and Iran held talks last Friday in Oman for the first time since the 12-day war back in June last year. Negotiations are set to continue, but a date and location hasn’t been confirmed yet. This is Ali Larijani, a top adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Ali Larijani: “From the beginning, we believe that war does not resolve matters between the two countries, and the regional disputes between Iran and the West must be resolved through dialogue. It is a mistake on the part of others to believe that they could resolve issues through the language of force.”
