#Lua with #love2d, #Bézier curve progress, now manage n segments, with the ability to move each node separatly. Next step, adding several modes like

  • The 2 control points around an extremity follow the extremity.
  • Ability to move the tangent between extremity and control point, instead of just one points.
  • probably later be able to add a new point on the curve, so divide in two bezier segments, and still keep the same shape.
Unrelated Objective, but my objectives
  • Have some dynamic reciprocal behaviour between segments. Like shape changing, depending on compression of the whole shape
  • use it for soft skeletons and bend associated textures (already made this on other projects, just need to glue them together with this part).
  • use this bezier skeleton to manage, the centre of the shape or the border of the shape, with grid like deformation. Maybe nurbs will be needed for clean full grill management.

The current algorithm made clicking on control points dots having the priority over clicking on the bounding box, however, they are both managed. for a segment. Next steps building multi-segment shapes, more complex in structure, and in coordination between segments, if they have commons start/finish points. The question is what is the best behaviour when an extremity control point change, as the control point can just be kept in place or follow the associated extremity to keep some kind of curvature. I think both could be used and should be optional.
Over the past few months, I've started using #Bézier curves in #Blender and also #GreasePencil. In my free time, I've been trying to get better at it, so I've worked on creating some fonts (which I still need to finish), as well as recreating existing logos and coming up with a few original ones.

After starting to mess around with #Bézier curves in #Blender and Inkscape, I tried them out in #Plasticity and #Rhino too, and now I’ve decided I’m definitely using them whenever I’m working with #NURBS surfaces. A single-span degree-3 curve lets me make pretty much any shape with the fewest points possible and get perfectly smooth surfaces… plus there are a bunch of other perks! #CAD #b3d
