The 1944 Christmas song “Baby It’s Cold Outside” was written by Frank Loesser (1910-1969) to sing with his wife, Lynn Garland (1916-1986), at a party to tell guests that it was time to leave.

Sung here by Red Skelton (1913-1997) and Betty Garrett (1919-2011) in MGM’s “Neptune’s Daughter” (1949).
