My expectations about people’s behaviour at the local Donutes are usually pretty low, but today – in addition to people smoking directly outside where they shouldn’t be – there is someone chewing betel nut *inside* the café.

Le soir, demandant à des locaux un endroit où camper, on me redirige vers les rangers. Ceux-ci m’offrent le thé, des gâteaux et du Supari (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Areca_nut_production_in_India), graine de palmier consommé dans toute l’Inde et abondante ici. A l’arrivée de Moritz, ils nous indiquent où rester et nous offrent une chambre. On passe devant leurs saisies de véhicules embarquant des arbres coupés illégalement, une pratique malheureusement répandue.
