@DoomsdaysCW Wonderful textile historian #BernadetteBanner had a couple of showcase videos about her 1892 Singer treadle powered sewing machine.
So schick!
A Woman showing her ankles?! A WOMAN WEARING SOCKS???!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT! (mat)

My Bernadette's inspired historical "pirate" shirt is almost ready. I did invisible seams with sewing machine and the seam finishings and small finicky bits by hand. After lots of reinforcement patches my left hand hurts, even though I'm right-handed. How did that happened...
My hobby of late has been following historical sewing methods as per YouTubers #BernadetteBanner and #MorganDonner, #CathyHay, etc . Been wearing Victorian and earlier clothing. Figured my people were all downstairs peasants, pretty much. But today, out of the internet sky, fell this woman’s photo.
Meet my Great Great Grandmother.
I’m so amazed. Born 1833.
