CBO @ le17Team #garagiste du dimanche, avant de vouloir changer le démarreur sur un #Berlingo de 2007 réfléchissez-y à deux fois: je viens de subir cette expérience traumatisante avec mon super voisin mécano (+40 ans d'expérience) et il est encore plus traumatisé que moi pauvre newbie en mécanique. Déjà sans pont ou fosse, passez votre chemin. Le démarreur est à l'arrière du moteur en bas et totalement inaccessible par le haut (pas de visibilité ) et quasiment inaccessible par le dessous: l'échappement gêne (certains sur youtube l'enlèvent). Je crois que lui et moi allons planter des aiguilles sur des poupées à l'effigie des ingénieurs de chez #citroen !

(1/5) After our unexpected #Riley, let’s return to Christmas night in a #Citroen #Berlingo in a Morrison’s car park in Essex. After 110,000 miles, we needed a replacement with a bit more reliability, something perhaps quirky but practical, chuckable in a ‘very tall go-kart’ sort of way, economical.
And, above all, environmentally friendly. A #Skoda #Yeti. With VW’s EA189 2-litre diesel engine, it couldn’t be anything else. Could it?

(1/5) Around 2009 we had a family bereavement and a bit of a windfall. We treated it as a ‘most for our old age, a bit for us now’ occasion and I found myself with £3500 to invest.
On to eBay (sober!)… We had a sensible #Berlingo, we had a plaything #MidasGold. What did I need?

(4/5) The #Berlingo’s performance was adequate but a light chipping just increased the mid-range urge and top end enough to address any weakness. It was genuinely possible to drive 500 miles and emerge without even stretching, and remains Beth’s favourite car for comfort.
It was also reliable: 10 years, 110,000 miles, one alternator, three coil springs. But it was the springs that heralded its replacement...

Based on Peugeot 306 underpinnings, the #Berlingo made an excellent light van: big enough to carry loads and, despite its height, chuckable in a grab-handle sort of way. With a lazy 2.0 turbo diesel it was also comfortably long-legged. Adding rear seats turned it into a 5-seat car/van with exceptional ride quality, for front seat passengers at least. The rear was more ‘galleon in a storm’.
