Half of it is the (in)famous actor's inner monologue, as he performs a one-man theatre show as Jesus, in 1970s West Germany, the other half is the author musing as to why, having finally had a bestseller and a film adaptation, he feels driven to research this moment and write about an insane German actor who has been dead for years (but he just can't stop! And to be honest, neither could I!)

I'm very much enjoying The Perfect Golden Circle, by #BenjaminMyers. It's kind of The Detectorists, but for crop circles, and more reflective than funny.

I like Myers. I've read most of his novels at this point. He's very good at writing about humanity's connection to the natural world.
