We know that the Deschutes County Sheriff was involved in a major scandal in April 2025, having given false testimony and mishandled evidence. Patterson was killed during the transition period between the former sheriff and the interim one. In this case as well, evidence and witness statements related to his murder were allegedly concealed by the Deschutes County Sheriff, keeping the truth hidden.
