The other day, I was sitting at my desk, working.
My husband walked by… and stopped.
He kissed my cheek, and whispered:
“I smile every time I see you.”

It felt like there was this wonderful subtitle:

And I felt it.

One of the biggest things I’ve ever received is love from people I deeply love in return.
Not just the love itself - but the way they genuinely acknowledge my value in their lives.

For a long time, I kept quiet about my coaching.
Because it felt scary to put myself out there.

For most of my life in social settings, I made myself smaller.
I thought… if I take up too much space, I’m stealing it from others.
So I’d pretend not to have opinions.
Or say, “Well, I’m just a quiet person.”

But that wasn’t the truth.
The truth was… I didn’t feel safe to be seen.
And somewhere along the way, I started believing that was normal.

When I began sharing my opinions (in the right company), everything shifted.
People listened.
My words landed.
I felt seen and heard… maybe for the first time.

And now, I know I’m allowed to be both quiet and take up space.
I know my words matter.
I cherish every conversation where we listen to each other, acknowledge each other’s fullness, and create a space where no one has to shrink.

That’s what real belonging feels like - safety, warmth, mutual witnessing.

Pride is not just for the LGBTQIA+ community; it is for everyone who believes in freedom of expression and equality. Even if you’re straight — you’re welcome to walk, support, learn, and celebrate. The portraits in this post — taken with my Canon 5D Mark III and Sigma 100–400mm lens — capture just a few of the powerful, beautiful individuals who walked with pride, dignity, and color. The wide shots, from my Canon 7D Mark II and 15–85mm lens, show just how many hearts and banners filled the streets. And yes, the city was awash in pink — and it was perfect.

Because no one should ever have to hide who they are.
