For the voting part of #democracy to work we need the other bits: a well-educated, well-informed #electorate, who know the difference between #thinking and #believing. And that requires, among other things, a truly free press, and an #education system worthy of the title.

Most grown ups are not adults: they actively seek out the comfort of certainty. So they vote for the dogmatic sociopath.
