Eric Swalwell is out.

Rep. Eric Swalwell said Sunday he would withdraw from the California governor’s race in the wake of allegations of sexual misconduct that led to a nearly immediate campaign collapse, as staffers quit and prominent Democratic supporters urged him to drop out.
From the article: “I’ve seen enough. With his nuanced statement aimed at defending likely criminal charges, Swalwell all but admits a per se abuse of power under House ethics rules: sex with a subordinate. He must now drop out of the Governor’s race and resign from Congress. Rep. Tony Gonzales, who admitted to the same violation, should also resign. If they don’t, I will support voting to expel both of them,” Huffman said on X.
This is really the bottom line. Unlike #TodaysGOP--which has shown that it believes a #ConvictedFelon & #AdjudicatedRapist is fit TO BE PRESIDENT, as long as he's THEIR guy--most Democrats understand why its important to #BelieveWomen, AND that the Constitutional presumption of innocence applies to DEPRIVING SOMEONE OF THEIR LIBERTY, not LETTING THEM KEEP A JOB that 'We, the People' should WANT to have higher standards.
Both men broke rules meant to safeguard the integrity of the system, and hurt people Americans had entrusted to their leadership. Both men need to be held accountable--starting now.

Efforts to expel Reps. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., and Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, from Congress gained bipartisan steam on Sunday, as lawmakers on both sides of the aisle said they would vote in favor of two separate measures to remove them.

Because it is already #Easter in some quarters, figure now would be a good time to share once again this crucial message (and also a theme of my sermon in the morning):
