Belém Tower was closed for repair, but I had a good look at the outside.

Also an old plane and the 25 de Abril Bridge.

Stripping away color lets you see the shapes in the night, from the crenellated silhouette of #BelémTower to the sleek curves of #MAAT & the proud stance of the #MonumentoAosDescobrimentos . Shooting in black and white helped me focus on light, shadow and texture along the Tagus in #Lisbon. Which frame pulls you in?

Belém Tower (Torre de Belém) in Lisbon, built between 1514-1520 at the height of the Portuguese Renaissance. It was constructed to celebrate the expedition of Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama to India, and would later serve as a point of embarkation and disembarkation for many Portuguese explorers.
