Il Tempo: Il Libano come Gaza: Netanyahu e Katz ordinano di radere al suolo i villaggi al confine

"Come abbiamo fatto con Gaza". Così il ministro della Difesa israeliano Israel Katz ha spiegato alle Idf la strategia da adottare in Libano, dove è stato chiesto di applicare il "modello Gaza". Ovvero di radere al suolo le case dei villaggi libanesi che si trovano al confine con Israele. Le Forze di difesa israeliane, secondo la decisione presa da Katz insieme al premier israeliano Benjamin Netanyahu, dovranno quindi "accelerare" la demolizione delle case libanesi lungo il confine, "sulla falsariga del modello che abbiamo applicato a Rafah e Beit Hanoun a Gaza", che sono state in gran parte rase al suolo. Citato da Haaretz, Katz ha affermato che le Forze di Difesa Israeliane stanno continuando la loro offensiva di terra in Libano "con tutta la loro forza" e continueranno a facilitare l'evacuazione dei residenti del Libano meridionale a nord del fiume Litani.

Il ministro degli Esteri ha inoltre ordinato all'esercito di distruggere i ponti sul fiume Litani, in Libano, "che vengono usati per attività terroristiche" da Hezbollah, si legge in una dichiarazione. Le Idf hanno già avvertito di un imminente attacco al ponte Qassamiya.

"Israele e gli Stati Uniti stanno lavorando per il bene del mondo intero: il regime iraniano deve essere fermato". Ma per raggiungere questo obiettivo "è giunto il momento di chiedere ai leader mondiali di unirsi a noi”, sono invece le parole del primo ministro israeliano Netanyahu parlando ai media da Arad e Dimona, dove è caduto un missile lanciato dall'Iran. "Sono lieto di constatare che alcuni di loro si stanno muovendo in questa direzione, ma è necessario fare di più", ha detto riferendosi ai leader mondiali che si sono uniti all'operazione militare lanciata da Stati Uniti e Israele contro l'Iran lo scorso 28 febbraio.

The Foreign Minister also ordered the army to destroy the bridges over the Litani River in Lebanon, “which are being used for terrorist activities” by Hezbollah, according to a statement. The IDF had already warned of an imminent attack on the Qassamiya bridge.

“Israel and the United States are working for the good of the world: the Iranian regime must be stopped.” But to achieve this goal “it is time to ask world leaders to join us,” are instead the words of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu speaking to the media from Arad and Dimona, where a missile launched by Iran fell. “I am pleased to note that some of them are moving in this direction, but we need to do more,” he said, referring to the world leaders who joined the military operation launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28th.
