Snapped a Scottish Crossbill as we wandered round The Woodland Trail last week.
I've never seen one before, I spotted it as looked somewhat out of place.
It was a touch fresh for our walk yesterday.
An old favourite: we did the Mountain Trail from Glas-Leitire. It was something like -4c when we left the van and still -1c when we got back. With little to no breeze I didn't need gloves, and it felt positively warm in the sun. Path had lots of ice, and occasional rock hard snow fields needed to be bypassed. Microspikes very much needed on the way down.
Looking across Drochaid Allt Toll a' Ghiubhais, which I think means something like bridge of the river of the pine hollow. Where bridge is akin to bealach or col.
I was actually above the col owing to not looking at the map and not liking the scabby path off to the left. One of these days maybe in the spring I'll come up to bag Ruadh-stac Beag for now I just used it for some exercise.
And a set with Skye from our walk yesterday round the Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve Mountain Trail.
A set of hopefully different photos to those I usually post having walked the Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve Mountain Trail in the sunshine yesterday.
Some more views as we made our way back round the descent path.
