Being aware of cognitive biases isn't enough.

Scrolling through this platform, I'm very aware of the bandwagon effect. But seeing all the AI posts out there every day still makes me question whether I'm falling behind, whether what I'm doing is still relevant.

Being aware of biases doesn't make the impact go away. And the same is true for our software architecture decisions.

Nobel economics prize: Richard Thaler and behavioural economics

Richard Thaler has won the Nobel economics prize for his work in behavioural economics. Knowing about this area is essential if you are a designer, to help you gain an understanding of what makes people tick.

Just found this toy experiment on moral dilemmas I designed in 2014(!) as a student 🧓🏻. It's looking into heuristics of sharing/altruism. Would actually be fun to collect more data, just for the heck of it. I'll publish the results in a week or so. Boost welcome

Sorry that it's Google doc. I won't save any of your information, and it's just for fun. Back then I didn't know much better. I was a humanities BA.

"Antisocial individuals have lower trust in others unless they know that they can punish them. They are also substantially less trustworthy, believe that others are like themselves, and respond to the possibility of being sanctioned more strongly, suggesting that they anticipate severe punishment if they betray their partner’s trust."
