TrinsecAh damnit! Played a random game from the latest bundle I bought and it turned out to be yet another emotional game where I had to cry.
Before Your Eyes is fully narrative driven where you can make a few small choices during the story, small choices which can have a large impact.
The interesting bit about this game is that it can work with your webcam, and advances the story with a blink of your eyes. But since I'm too lazy to actually bother with this, I just resorted to mouse clicks instead.
You're Benny, and you witness your life via your memories. You decide how your childhood went from a first person perspective and a bunch of eye blinking (or mouse clicking). There are plenty of sad moments in the story, though not as abundant as with Impostor Factory, but still, crying is crying. Theme is loss, illness, and death.
Art style is nicely drawn, story was interesting (otherwise I'd not finish it in one go), and it's replayable unlike the last game I played. So I might do that sometime with different choices and see how it pans out, though I suspect the ending flashback might be the same. Except maybe for the gatekeeper at the end, that one might differ depending on the choices made.
Anyway, that was again a few tears shed. I seriously hope the next random game I play will be less... sad. Otherwise I'm going to play myself right into a depression here. 😋
