There are about 5,000 species of ladybirds. These much loved critters are also known as lady beetles or ladybugs, and are often considered good luck.

#Beetle Don’t know what type

@mysterycryptid Is turning people into bugs! A mad scientist is on the loose and capturing people to inject with science juice, transforming them into bugs.

It was such a fun idea I had to get in on it, and Lenora turned me into a teeny little shiny June bug! Say "hi" to beetle-t3rm!

The description is a little dark, but I think it's also funny. Hopefully the survivors can escape and form a teeny bug-person society!

Once again, the lady beetle, Cetonia, in the photo—unlike in the previous video. She is vegan, but her larvae are not. She is also highly poisonous. And its larvae parasitize various species of bees; they wait on a flower, latch onto a bee, let themselves be carried into the nest, and there they eat everything they can find. I was struck by the speed and efficiency with which this particular beetle ate a blade of grass—its mandibles must be extremely sharp.

I had a request for a "Bug" based on open source reference photos...so have a Carabus auronitens!

I used research-grade photos by Ludivine Lamare to figure out how the iridescence and anatomy worked. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/207209208
