Since I've started digging in & futzing around with my signal chain - all the way back to my first forays into DAW sims - I've started to care about noise reduction 😁

My physical setup is pretty bad (lots of radio noise etc. around here, apparently) & you know what I wish I could get? The Bertom Denoiser Classic as a pedal.

Seriously, this thing is ballah & I don't fully understand why nothing like it seems to be available as hardware... πŸ€”

Bertom Audio - Denoiser Classic

Denoiser Classic is a zero-latency noise reduction plugin for music, post-production and live use.

Lovely rundown 😊 I got the UA 610 with the amp bundle I bought a while ago & never got around to using it & now I really want to 😬 I'm sure it isn't good for everything, but... seems really cool!

(edit: solved, see thread)

I have the weirdest situation. I use an UMC1820 with a Focusrite Octopre MKII Dynamic.
Both worked together under Linux, until they didn't: The Locked light wasn't shining anymore and no signal came from the pre.
I connected the interface to a Win PC, also, no Locked LED and no sound from the pre.
But: When I set the Focusrite to Internal clock and the UMC to OpticalIn so that the pre gives the clock to the UMC, then the devices are locked and I get sound from the pre to my DAW.

That little gooseneck LED still wasn't quite enough, especially since I'm now also fiddling with pedals, so I bought these two, which thankfully came in white 😊

Yes, it's an increasingly messy little nook, but still not dominatingly so 😁

Dabbling a bit in bedroom production, one of the things I'm somewhat baffled by is reverb. Specifically, how it can possibly work to have various different reverbs - or no reverb at all - on various tracks of a piece of music.

Why doesn't it sound like everything is happening in separate rooms? That's what reverb literally is - the (artificial) sound of a room. Different ones on the same piece should sound cacophonous.

But is doesn't. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜

@guitarbomb Great offer - which it turns out I've already redeemed, back when I bought their amp bundle 😁

I never got around to activating it because my music Mac runs Catalina & every time I open UA Connect it updates itself to the latest, not compatible version 😫 I do have a legacy UAC tucked away so I can re-install it, but it's pretty fucking annoying - guess I just ran out of patience & then forgot 😝

If anyone knows how to prevent this... πŸ™πŸ˜Š

Alright, diving into the Zebralette 3 by @uheplugins & even though having played around with VCV does, in fact, help a little, I'm still overwhelmed πŸ˜‚

For example, I don't get this: If, as it seems, I have to use the matrix panel to patch e.g. the LFOs to various controls (green arrows), then what the heck are these dropdowns (red arrow) for...?

(yes, this is a dumb patch; I'm just practicing how to actually use this thing 😁 )
