Continuing my posts on the impact of drought on Bear Mountain. Here are a series of photos taken on the Appalachian Trail ascending to the peak of Bear. These photographs seem monochromatic because of the overall abundance of copper throughout the images. In the first two images you can see what looks like clouds in the upper left sky, this is smoke from brush fires. #hiking #drought #climatechange #forestfire #brushfire #newyork #bearmountain #nature #forest #outdoors #leica #leicaq343
Another reminder of how dry it’s been here in NY. Since August, we’ve had barely any rainfall. While hiking Bear Mountain, I even saw smoke from a brush fire not far from where I was. I haven’t seen it this dry in a very long time. #flowers #autumn #fall #fallvibes #autumnvibes #drought #newyork #hiking #outdoors #bearmountain #nature #naturelovers #leica #leicaq343
Yesterday, I took a day to reconnect with nature and hiked up Bear Mountain. The view at the top was absolutely breathtaking—I ended up just sitting and soaking in the vast, open landscape. I especially loved catching a glimpse of Manhattan in the distance. It was truly rejuvenating being out there on the trail. #hiking #mountains #nature #outdoors #bearmountain #mountainview #naturelover #leica #leicaq343
