Tonight: Portishead is in one of my many musical blind spots, but gladly accepted a kind invite to join a friend at Beth Gibbons (even as I continue to attempt to avoid all Dolan properties). Hypnotic & orchestral with dramatic lighting and a band that brought a range of sound & texture.

Opening set from Cass McCombs was worth the trip alone, one of the best I've seen from him... With a fantastic, no-drums band.
