JFC, this is a public health nightmare, mainly as most in the medical community are in denial over Long Covid or at a loss at how to identify and treat it. Basically we are infecting everyone who requires blood or blood products for surgeries or on going treatments - what a nightmare

And of course Bonnie Henry will minimize all of this

Nearly every municipality, regional district and First Nation across the Okanagan and Similkameen watersheds has signed on to a syilx-led initiative to restore and protect the region’s waters for the next seven generations.

But the effort is missing two key players, reports Aaron Hemens. #bcpoli

But the committee never met

"The Aboriginal affairs committee is one of 11 permanent committees of the British Columbia legislative assembly. But the government never leverages this tool for its full benefit. I [Adam Olsen] was an appointed committee member for the seven years I was an MLA. But the committee never met — not even while B.C. was developing DRIPA..

The cross-party work of parliamentary committees removes the responsibility from any one political party. They report to the whole legislative assembly through clear terms of reference, and it is a space where they can inform their work by inviting the testimony of historians, constitutional experts, academics, First Nations leaders and community members. Their reports are consensus-based, reflecting only what all members can find agreement on. There is no other space in the legislature that reflects this approach.

The government’s evasion of its responsibility is what has created uncertainty for industry, for investors and for all British Columbians"

Former British Columbia Green Party MLA Adam Olsen writes that BC's Legislative chamber helps promote anti-Indigenous racism when MLAs use it as a "content farm for the social media outrage machine." He says select standing committees offer a more precise and surgical response for "good public policy-making." No matter which party holds power, he warns "they face the reality of Crown-Indigenous relations."

New report by research institute BC Policy Solutions calls for greater funding for higher education in British Columbia. It highlights the cuts to staffing and programs that have happened recently and warns that treating education as a commodity funded by student debt deepens inequalities:

"The post-secondary sector performs particularly poorly for low-income, racialized, Indigenous and first-generation students."

Rebuilding post-secondary education as public infrastructure in BC (or how we fix the predictable failures of marketization)

British Columbia’s public post-secondary education system is facing its worst funding crisis in history. This report captures a critical moment in time for BC’s public post-secondary education sector. It traces the historical throughlines and outlines a path forward that reclaims post-secondary educ

3 years ago today, we lost my Dad. We've never recovered from that traumatic loss. Dad suffered a premature death due to unmasked people in hospital, where he was infected with covid. That set off latent TB, which he recovered from in hospital. The covid infection he never fully recovered from. It damaged his heart, which didn't have issues prior to covid infection. That led to his long covid cardiac arrest death.

This is one of the big reasons I'm vigilant about masking up & get upset at folks who stopped masking & are enabling more eugenics in our communities. I lost my Dad because of reckless unmasked people. I have one Aunt disabled from long covid & in a wheelchair. How many more lives need to sacrificed for eugenics, inhumane public health & basic lack of concern for others?

We are having quiet, family ceremonies for my Dad's memorial, today ❤️💗❤️
Love is infinite.
