The crews contained the fire and cooled the surrounding tanks to prevent the blaze spreading. The fire department's hazmat team also conducted air monitoring in the area while the shelter-in-place order was effective.

Parents of teen accused in Baytown shooting death charged with failing to secure gun
Court documents allege that a 14-year-old boy got into a verbal altercation with a 14-year-old girl, identified as Anaya Zachary, while riding the school bus home from Baytown Junior High School on March 21. The boy allegedly killed the girl with a gun taken from his parents' bedroom.

The animal control department for the city east of Houston seized two dogs in the aftermath of the attack, according to a spokesperson for the Baytown Police Department, who said the dogs belonged to the infant's parents.

Court records show that Samuel Serrett and Teddy Sims, both 30 years old, participated in a pretrial diversion program that will prevent them from again working as law enforcement officers in Texas. A third officer still faces a criminal charge for allegedly assaulting Kendric Crawford, 50, when he was stopped by police and arrested on a charge that subsequently was dismissed.

Houston judge dismisses civil rights lawsuit against City of Baytown, police officer over 2019 shooting death of Pamela Turner
In rejecting claims of excessive force and violations of Turner's Fourth Amendment rights, Judge George C. Hanks Jr. wrote that Baytown police officer Juan De La Cruz “could have reasonably believed that Turner posed a threat of serious harm to his life” when he shot and killed her while trying to arrest her at the apartment complex where they both resided.
