On the 1 July 2016 a football event that commemorated the centenary of the Battle of the Somme where 20,000 British soldiers were killed on that first day was played. Thinklaser were commissioned to create unique medals for the event.

His medal record shows Theatre of war first served in France 27th August 1915. Victory Medal, British Medal, and 15 Star Medal.

The family lived on 26, Wragby Row, Wath Road, Mexborough. He married Elizabeth Hough on 27th August 1914, Bolton upon Dearne.
