Wow, lots of new faces posting about #boardgames.

I don't suppose there's finally a second #BattleCON player hanging around? :P

#boardgames Two rounds of #BattleCON Online today, going 1-1 with a heavyweight against a control character. Both games started off well but I only mitigated my opponent's control effects properly in the second match.

Also spent a while trying to develop a solo mode for Brass: Birmingham. Looks like my current implementation has too many edge cases, but I got some ideas for a more streamlined (read: more cheaty) bot.

Queuing times for #BattleCON Online are still forever. Hopefully the Steam release will bring more regular players, but I have a sneaking suspicion a *lot* of people are going to be playing vs friends only.

Also I'm currently on a losing streak and need to figure out how to fight Sarafina, but she only seems to show up while I'm queued as Luc (who has a ton of trouble against her).

First play of Pulsar since last year's PAX Unplugged. Still works as an action management game with some engine building. Newer players will underestimate the end-game importance of board coverage. 7.4/10

I'm a #BattleCON fanboy and have been testing out balance patches for a 2nd Ed. The character in pink used to 90% win or lose based on the opponent's character choice, but both matches I played with her were close, so I'm happy with the changes. 9.5/10

Time for more fight games #BattleCON

#boardgames

3 x #BattleCON (2-1)
1 x Sakura Arms

Sakura Arms continues to fall short of my expectations for it. It's almost good? But some of the systems rub up against each other in weird ways, and some design choices feel weird. I don't think I'd buy the game, knowing what I know now, though I'm still going to give it a few more tries to see if experience changes anything.

7 (?) more rounds of #BattleCON. I think I went 5 and 2? Closing in rapidly on 500 games, especially now that the official online product is available (and is eating the market share for my pile-of-spreadsheet-scripts).

More fight games tonight, in meatspace!

Adding one more to the #BattleCON loss column. A few too many missteps, but at least the match was roughly even. (We're rebuilding a zoning fighter so that her kit isn't one massive gear check on whether you have adequate movement options.)

5 x #BattleCON (3 - 2) - Patches to Kallistar and Lymn are working nicely. If only it were easy to replace physical cards...

1 x Star Realms - Victory by rushing Green after seeing opponent snag three or four Blue and not wanting to lose to overheal.

3 x Seikatsu - Visual appeal and ease of teaching confirmed. First play seems to center around big flower scores but once players start blocking each other everywhere the marginal points conferred by birds become critical.

#boardgames played in the last week:
31 games of #BattleCON, mainly thanks to the newly-in-public-Alpha BCO client.
