Happy #Baturday from this eepy floof-bean! This is one of the two orphaned infant seminole bats currently in my care.

I haven’t been posting much, because orphaned bat season is pretty all-consuming. In my corner of the globe, it last from May through the end of summer. This is broken up into several waves, broadly by genus/family.

Thank you for the gentle nudges I’ve gotten that there is still a world outside of my wee belfry. 😅

Henlo. I’m still existing.😅

Orphan baby bat season is in full swing so I’m only sleeping about 2 hours at a time between feedings. Good grief. I don’t know how you human baby-havers do it.

I also seem to have become the maternity ward for pregnant or newly post-partum batties. Which is way easier than orphaned neonates, but still a very delicate situation.

Anyway. I’ll have some #BatsInBlankets goodies to post at some point when I’m not in a a neonate fugue state 🤪

I believe the saying is something like “sleep when baby sleeps, eat when baby eats?”

Well, this first time mama Evening Bat is taking that advice and getting a second chance at motherhood. She was rejecting baby when they were found, but after some extra calories and vitamins I was able to get baby latched and filling up the tummy again. Thankfully mama’s milk had not yet dried up!
