During the #BataanDeathMarch there was on #ThisDayInHistory in 1942 a substantial mass killing of Filipino & American #PrisonersOfWar. About 400 were hog-tied and bayoneted, shot, or beheaded in the #PantinganRiverMassacre by Imperial Japanese forces under Colonel Masanobu Tsuji.
The three-month #BattleOfBataan ended in 1942 on #ThisDayInHistory, and the #BataanDeathMarch began, with 78,000 Filipino & American #POWs marched 65 miles by the Japanese victors under brutal conditions, with up to 18,000 killed along the way, including in deliberate massacres.
