Halfdan ReschatI woke up this morning full of inspiration and energy after spending the last 2 days at the #OffDig conference. OffDig is Denmark’s largest conference on public digitization - sharing examples and topics for inspiring and discussion. It was great to chat with others with a passion for public digitalization.
A big highlight for me this year were #SDFI getting an award for #BasicData, recognizing the huge value created by the Danish Basic Data Programme, which I have been a part of since 2015. 🗺️
He cornered me in the bathroom. 😳
Then, next the urinals, he said: "You are Halfdan!".
And then... after leaving the toilet... we proceeded to have an interesting conversation about how the ease of access to basic data, both systemically and humanly, is essential for reaping the rewards of the Basic Data Programme. 💜

In addition to talking with all my fellow geodata nerds at this year's #Kortdage conference, I am also especially looking forward to hearing about:
⬩ A new approach to creation of nautical charts
⬩ The end-of-life of the old ESR (land/property register) system
⬩ The switch to, and benefits from, new basic data models
⬩ The modernization of the Data Distribution Platform (which I'm part of)
I'm looking forward to a couple of fun and informative days.

Firstly, an #introduction to Kortdage, an annual (since 1974) Danish conference for the GIS and geodata industry and interest groups, with more than 700 participants. The conference these days is put on by Geoforum, a Danish NGO promoting the benefits of geographic information - where I am a member of Geoforum's Basic Data Committee.
Last year, we also made elevation model of Denmark out of #LEGO. 🗺️ 😃
