To add to @DocTellMeMore 's post below listing his on-field accomplishments (of which there could've been more! His final hit on 9/30/72 was his 3000th) I'd like to add he was/is the greatest #humanitarian in MLB history (maybe one of the greatest in world history, imho). He was the 1st Latin player in the HOF & his number should be universally retired alongside 42. I hate Manfred for a billion reasons (so much he makes me miss Bud!
