So, ein weiteres Langzeitprojekt findet langsam sein Ende.
Eine Horizontalbandsäge zum Aufschneiden von Baumstämmen für meine Drechselarbeiten.
Angetrieben von einem 3 PS Motor, mit drei Fensterhebermotoren zur Höhenverstellung des Bandes.
An der Bandführung werde ich noch etwas arbeiten müssen und die Zuleitung wird noch durch ein Anschlusskabel mit 2,5 mm2 ersetzt.
Danach lackieren und der erste Probelauf kann starten.
🪵 Made a tiny 3D wombat from scrap timber using my bandsaw!
Couldn’t find a template, so I made my own. Asked ChatGPT for front and side views of a wombat, resized them in Affinity Photo to about 2 cm x 3 cm, then printed and glued to the wood.
Cut one side with a 3 mm blade, taped it back together, cut the other, then shaped and sanded it with a Dremel.
Pretty happy with how it turned out! 🐾

I'm excited to have borrowed a small bench top bandsaw, this saves me from buying one, and forces me to find a project to do to make the borrowing worth while.
I've been using a bench top jig saw for this type of work mostly, I'm eager to see how nice it is to be able to resaw with a bandsaw. Not sure this will really serve that purpose, but I'm sure it will be handy.
First task, to build or find a small stand for it.
