For Figure Friday, I wanted to share a relatively recent model kit I got. It's bulbasaur!

Bulbasaur is one of my all time favorite Pokémon, so I had to get this kit when I saw it. I already have a few Pokémon Bandai model kits, including Eevee, Mewtwo, and Rowlet. This one adds to my collection.

As the box says, this is an "Easy Simple Assembly Kit." The biggest difficulty was getting the stickers for the eyes, feet bottoms, and some of the spots to line up. As an adult, I was able to do it with a pair of tweezers. Younger kids may need a bit of assistance with that aspect of the kit.

Overall, easy to build, adorable to look at. Love it!

Let's go back to 2020 for Throwback Thursday.

I spent a lot of time alone working in a satellite office to avoid folks throughout the year.

What did I do? Well, I may have had a wide assortment of figures across my desk and shelf space including setting up some scenes with them.

Here was a mini-arcade scene I had setup for a while at my old office. I kind of love how hyped the Gunpla figure is while crushing it at DDR. Also, the answer is yes - both of those miniature arcade machines are functional and playable.

I didn't grow up with Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z. I stopped having cable at home in the early 90s. So, my first real experience with Dragon Ball Z was in college. I had a roommate who would watch subtitled episodes late at night really loud, which annoyed me. I avoided the franchise for that reason for a long while.

In 2019, I picked up a copy of Dragon Ball FighterZ because of how highly it was rated. I fell in love with it immediately. Such an amazing fighting game. In December, Viz's Shonen Jump service dropped and allowed you access to their full archive of manga for certain series. Dragon Ball was among them. I decided to read the manga to get the backstory of these characters. I became enthralled and within three months had read all of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Super.

Since then, I have plowed through so much manga from Akira Toriyama. From Cowa to Sandland to a ton of stuff in between. His influence on the anime and manga industry will be felt for generations to come.

Here's a picture of a few of the Bandai model kits I have of Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan forms.

Rest in Peace, Toriyama. Thank you for all you have given us over the years. May your family and fans be comforted following your passing.

I finally got around to building my Rowlet model kit!

This little guy is just too cute. I took a few pics in front of my Pokémon Sun / Moon manga before bringing the little guy into the office to hang out with my Eevee model kit.

I love these little kits and can't wait to find more of them!
