Today I rode with the bike club in the Field of Dreams charity sportive from just outside #Ballincolig to #Kinsale and the Old Head, and back (~100 km)

I didn't feel great in the morning (still dealing with some kind of illness), and it was wet and rainy outside. Luckily I had some good companions during the ride and a determination to finish since this was likely my last ride to Kinsale for the foreseeable future (my Ireland assignment is ended in a few weeks).

On this date, one year ago, I participated in my first ride with the Ballincolig Crusaders Cycling Club. I remember the 40 km ride being challenging despite it being a White ride (slowest group), but I was able to get through it with encouragement from the other riders.

In general, the members of the club have been very welcoming!

Since then I've participated in many rides, including century rides and rides with the Yellow and Reds (the faster groups)

Pictures from my bike club spin today. We did a 65 mile loop to #Millstreet and back to #Ballincolig. It was a bit chilly and foggy in the morning, but it warmed up nicely as the day went on

Took advantage of the mild weather this weekend and went on two rides on Sat/Sunday, total of 104 miles. On Sunday I was planning to use the ferry cross to #Cobh but it was out of service. I rode with the #Ballincolig club and we stopped for coffee at a #charity event raising money for Autism Ireland / #TourdeMunster.
